The SIM Project,
Science Gallery London

The installation features SIM artworks created with over 100 participants from countries including Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Senegal and Libya at workshops held in the UK, Greece, Finland and Cyprus. This chapter of the project developed during Liz’s residency within the Department of Digital Humanities at Kings College London in collaboration with Dr Zeena Feldman (2020-22).

The SIM artworks are displayed in their physical form as hanging pieces of jewellery as well as in the carousel of a revolving projector, which enlarges the details of each onto the gallery wall. The surrounding light boxes illuminate stamped personal numbers on the backplates of the artworks held in the hands that made them.
